DOA

Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA)

DOA is home to the State Geographic Information Office (GIO), which has the responsibility to coordinate Wisconsin’s geospatial information activities, to implement standards to facilitate interoperability of information related to homeland security, to make recommendations on awarding grants to fund geospatial data, and to create information sharing agreements with state, local and tribal governments. The GIO is located within the Division of Intergovernmental Relations and is led by the State Geographic Information Officer (Jim Giglierano). The GIO will coordinate Wisconsin’s geographic information systems projects and ensure that GIS policies support Wisconsin's GIS activities and a sustainable GIS infrastructure.

Geospatial services and tools are also used in other DOA divisions, such as the Division of Energy Services.
